Please be advised that space for all tracks is limited. Once we reach capacity for a track, and in order to ensure programmatic access for all, we will not be able to accept additional registrations. Please register as soon as you are able.

What if I need to cancel my registration?

Cancelling conference registration:

Cancellations will be accepted in writing by October 27, 2012. Write to Funds will be returned, minus a $20 processing fee.

If a registrant cancels after that date or is a no-show, the full registration fee will still be owed. We regret that we cannot offer refunds for late cancellations or no-shows, however, if your agency would like to substitute another individual, this can be done. Please email to obtain information about substitutions.

Cancelling hotel reservation:

You may cancel your hotel reservation as long as it is at least 24 hours prior to your arrival date. Contact the hotel at Reservations: (888) 421-1442.

At this time we are considering a limited number of scholarships for free registration, based on need. Please contact us if you have a question about scholarships.

How do I reserve a room at the conference discounted rate?

Please contact the conference hotel, the Hyatt Regency Crystal City, to reserve your room at a discounted rate of $205 per night for single or double occupancy. What if I need an accommodation during the conference?

The 2012 National Disability Inclusion Leadership Development Institute is committed to providing effective accommodations for all conference attendees. Please let us know of your accommodation requests or special needs (e.g. dietary restrictions, large print, electronic documents, service animal relief area, interpreters or Braille) when registering for the institute. Is there a hotel shuttle?

Yes, there are two complimentary hotel shuttles for guests of the Hyatt Regency to Reagan International Airport. One of the shuttles is accessible for standard and power wheelchairs while the other is not. The shuttles are available between 5:00 a.m. and 12:00 a.m. daily to and from Reagan National Airport and the Metro Subway. The Hyatt Regency contact number is: 1-888-421-1422.

May I bring a guest?

Guests are considered participants and would pay a registration fee. Personal Assistants register for free. They should register along with the participant to attend any plenary presentations, workshops, and/or networking events.

What should I wear to the conference?

The attire is business casual. To ensure a comfortable environment for all conference attendees, the 2012 National Disability Inclusion Leadership Development Institute is a fragrance-free event. Please refrain from any scented lotions, perfumes, or colognes.

Will meals be provided at the National Disability Inclusion Leadership Development Institute?

What is NSIP?

The National Service Inclusion Project is a cooperative agreement (08TAHMA001) between the Corporation for National and Community Service and the Institute for Community Inclusion at UMass Boston in collaboration with the Association of University Centers on Disabilities, the Association on Higher Education and Disability, CTAT Denver Options and Virtual Ability. The content contained does not imply endorsement from the Corporation for National and Community Service, the National Service Inclusion Project or any of our partner agencies. The National Service Inclusion Project (NSIP) is a Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) training and technical assistance provider. Through comprehensive training, technical assistance, and product dissemination, NSIP strives to ensure meaningful service experiences for all Americans, regardless of their abilities. Most services are free of charge.

What is NextSTEP?

The National Service to Employment Project (NextSTEP) conducts research, provides technical assistance, and creates demonstration projects focusing on people with disabilities in volunteer and community-service roles. Funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) (Cooperative agreement #09TAHMA001), NextSTEP strives to identify effective practices and promote service as a step towards improving employment outcomes for people with disabilities.

NextSTEP is a collaboration of the Institute for Community Inclusion (ICI) at UMass Boston; the State Employment Leadership Network of the National Association of State Directors of Developmental Disabilities Services and the ICI; and the US Business Leadership Network.
